Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar, the caretaker prime minister, is said to have finalized the names of Cabinet members.
According to ProPakistani, Dr Shamshad Akhtar, former governor of the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), is expected to be appointed Finance Minister in the caretaker administration.
In 2018, Dr. Akhtar served as finance minister in an interim capacity. She is also the current Chairman of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX).
According to sources, former Finance Minister Ishaq Dar would likely leave for the United Arab Emirates tomorrow if it is confirmed that he will not be part of the caretaker government.
According to insiders, former Minister of Water Resources Faisal Vawda would also be given an important portfolio.
