Asad and Shahabaz

PESHAWAR – Asad Qaiser, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and former national parliament speaker, has sought the prime minister’s resignation.

According to Qaiser, the country’s law and order situation has deteriorated. He asked the authorities to hold free and fair elections promptly.

He declared that the PTI will meet with all associated parties this week to develop a clear national agenda, which would then be presented to the people to rally support.

The former speaker also called for the dismissal of FIRs against PTI officials and the release of those incarcerated.

Speaking with local media Qaiser stated that no decision or discussion had been reached regarding a demonstration outside Adiala Jail. He stated that a comprehensive action plan will be presented next week in consultation with opposition parties, as well as a protest strategy in partnership with the grand alliance.

He went on to say that the PTI had not formally decided to stage a sit-in outside Adiala Jail, but that conversations with opposition parties about possible protest plans were underway.
